...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 600 PM CDT
FOR EAST CENTRAL JOHNSON AND SOUTHWESTERN JACKSON COUNTIES...

At 538 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Leawood,
moving northeast at 30 mph. Another storm was located west of
Stanley and also moving northeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
         roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Kansas City, Overland Park, Olathe, Independence, Lee's Summit,
Leawood, Raytown, Grandview, Prairie Village, Fairway, Mission Hills,
Sugar Creek, Mission Woods, Unity Village, and Stanley.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 70 in Missouri between mile markers 5 and 14.
 Interstate 470 between mile markers 0 and 14.
 Interstate 435 between mile markers 58 and 81.
 Interstate 49 between mile markers 179 and 183.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for east central
Kansas...and west central Missouri.
