Early morning temperatures ranged from the upper 40s in western Kansas to the 60s across much of central and eastern Kansas. An approaching storm system will bring another round of showers and thunderstorms to eastern Kansas this afternoon. Some of the storms could become severe. High temperatures will top out around 70 in northwest Kansas while lower 80s will be common in south central and northeast Kansas. Showers and thunderstorms will linger over southeast Kansas this evening before diminishing and moving east of the area. Low temperatures tonight will fall into the upper 30s near the Colorado state line while southeast Kansas bottoms out in the upper 50s. $$
