.DISCUSSION...

Decent mixing is expected today, and we will see breezy winds
mixing down to the surface this afternoon. Wind speeds will pick
up this afternoon with gusts around 15 to 20 mph through the
afternoon and evening. A front is expected to pass through the
region tonight; as a result, wind speeds will remain elevated
overnight into tomorrow morning. In fact, stronger winds are
expected tomorrow afternoon. We are not expecting a noticeable
wind shift as the front falls apart over the Cascades.
Additionally, widespread rainfall is expected to begin tonight
with rain transitioning to snow for brief periods, but little to
no snow accumulation is expected. Behind the front tomorrow
(Wed.), we could see isolated areas of thunder west and northwest
of this prescribed burn location. Chances for lightning at this
location are currently low for Wednesday afternoon. The bigger
threat tomorrow afternoon may be the strong westerly wind speeds
through the afternoon and early evening.
