NOUS41 KWBC 141835 PNSWSH Public Information Statement 26-26 National Weather Service Headquarters Silver Spring MD 235 PM EDT Tue Apr 14 2026 To: Subscribers: -NOAA Weather Wire Service -Emergency Managers Weather Information Network -NOAAPort Other NWS Partners, Users and Employees From: Richard Bandy Acting Director NCEP/Environmental Modeling Center Subject: Soliciting Public Comments through May 14th, 2026, on the Proposed Removal of All Products from the Combined NCEP/FNMOC Wave Ensembles (NFCENS) system. The NWS Environmental Modeling Center (EMC) is seeking comments until May 14th, 2026, on the proposed termination of disseminating all products from the Combined NCEP/FNMOC Wave Ensembles (NFCENS) product system. NFCENS products are currently in legacy status and are now targeted for retirement, in an effort to consolidate and streamline wave guidance information available to users. Users are encouraged to use the Global Ensemble Forecast System (GEFS) waves forecast data as a continued source of probabilistic wave ensemble guidance, or the National Blend of Models (NBM) significant wave height product, which combines FNMOC data with additional wave ensemble model data. The National Weather Service plans to cease dissemination of all NFCENS products transmitted via all transmission methods. In addition, the NFCENS EMC Verification System web page will also be terminated when NFCENS is removed from production: https://emc.ncep.noaa.gov/users/verification/ocean_lake/nfcens/p rod/ To provide feedback regarding this change, please contact: Email: emc.products.feedback@noaa.gov Google Form: Soliciting Public Comments on the Termination of the Combined NCEP and FNMOC Wave Ensembles (NFCENS) Product at: https://forms.gle/r3cWtaZWx7ut1a9A6 National Public Information Statements are online at: https://www.weather.gov/notification/
