Subject: Soliciting Public Comments through May 14th, 2026, on
the Proposed Removal of All Products from Smartinit.

The NWS Environmental Modeling Center (EMC) is seeking comments
until May 14th, 2026, on the proposed termination of
disseminating all products from Smartinit.  Smartinit products
are currently in legacy status and are now targeted for
retirement.  The National Blend of Models (NBM) replaces
Smartinit products, and users are encouraged to migrate to using
the NBM.

The National Weather Service plans to cease dissemination of all
Smartinit products transmitted via all transmission methods.
