Low level winds will start to come up out of the southwest within a couple hours of sunrise, and then reach peak speed and gustiness between noon and 4pm. A light breeze is expected to develop late morning and into the early afternoon hours. Predominant wind direction will be from west. Today will being a warming trend with unseasonably warm temperatures near 80 degrees, along with relative humidity being on the lower side again this afternoon. Low afternoon relative humidity and unseasonably warm temperatures are expected to continue through much of the week, and even into the first half of the weekend. The next chance of rain will come Thursday night, but the probability for rain accumulation one- tenth of an inch or greater is 30% or less. It will be insignificant to the worsening drought conditions. Additional chances for rain exist Saturday night. Cooler, more seasonable conditions are expected to end the weekend in a post-frontal air mass. .REST OF TODAY... Sky/weather.........Mostly sunny (35-45 percent). Max temperature.....Around 82. If conditions become unrepresentative, contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION... Expect a fairly warm and mostly sunny day with temperature at ignition in the lower 60s and an afternoon high around 79. Relative humidity will start around 80 percent, falling into the mid 30s by 4 PM. Wind should stay fairly steady out of the northeast at 8 to 12 mph with a few gusts nearing 18 mph. Can't completely rule out a stray shower or storm this afternoon (20% chance from noon through 2 PM). If that occurs, any nearby activity could lead to some gusts near 30 mph. Otherwise, smoke dispersal could be a bit limited to start, but should improve very quickly as it warms up. Higher shower and storm chances arrive after 10 PM and could linger through the day on Wednesday. Expect a high temperature on Wednesday around 72 with RH falling into the mid 40s. Northeast winds to start the day will become northwesterly for the afternoon, with speeds similar to those of today (8-12 mph, gusts 18 mph). South to southeasterly flow will remain prevalent across the region throughout the week with wind speeds in the 10-15 mph range during peak heating hours. Moisture levels will remain largely unchanged with Min RH values in the 40s across inland areas and closer to the low 50s near the coast. Critical fire weather concerns will be limited due to these moisture levels. The lack of stagnant nighttime air and daytime warmth should mitigate development of dense fog, but there will be chances for light to moderate fog particularly inland and near water bodies each morning this week. 1)There is a low chance of light patchy fog this morning and tomorrow morning. 2)No seabreeze formation is expected. Winds should remain generally south to southeasterly. .REST OF TODAY... Sky/weather.........Sunny (15-25 percent). Chance of pcpn......0 percent. Max temperature.....Around 82. Critical fire weather conditions are expected for the spot area this afternoon and evening. Conditions today are wind driven, but RH values will easily drop below 20% this afternoon. Strong, southwesterly winds are expected to start around 10 AM and last through 10 PM tonight. No major wind direction shift is expected today, (Unless influenced by a thunderstorm). Peak non-convective gusts up to 45 mph are expected and may occur between 2-6 PM. A chance for thunderstorms is also present in the spot area later this afternoon and evening. Any storm that forms will pose hazards of sporadic winds and cloud-to-ground lightning. A low chance (5%) for severe storms are also present today, and will be highly disruptive for crews if one can form over the area. Damaging winds (+65 mph) and large hail are the primary hazards for severe storms, though a tornado cannot be ruled out. One positive for the severe storm case is heavy rainfall will aid highly against fire spread. .REST OF TODAY... Sky/weather.........Partly sunny (50-60 percent).
