Winds could also be an issue in regards burning, as 20 ft gusts up to 20 mph will be possible ahead and in wake of the front Saturday. South to southeasterly flow will remain prevalent across the region throughout the week with wind speeds in the 10-15 mph range during peak afternoon hours. Moisture levels will remain largely unchanged with Min RH values in the 40s across inland areas and closer to the low 50s near the coast. Critical fire weather concerns will be limited due to these moisture levels. The lack of stagnant nighttime air and daytime warmth should mitigate development of dense fog in most places, but there will be chances for light to moderate fog particularly inland each morning this week. .REST OF TODAY... While the overnight should be fairly calm, an approaching area of low pressure will bring in gusty winds from the south with winds ramping up around 10 to 11 AM. An inversion will eventually break by early afternoon and give even stronger winds in the afternoon with gusts to 30 mph or more by the late afternoon in conjunction with minimum RH values near 25 percent giving near-critical fire weather conditions, if not critical conditions for a period of time. The low passes on Thu night and a cold front will switch winds to the northwest on Friday and become quite gusty again Friday afternoon. Rain will eventually overspread the area on Friday night. .THURSDAY... Sky/weather.........Sunny (0-10 percent). Chance of pcpn......0 percent. Max temperature.....Around 75. A sea breeze is will reach the area around 4:30 PM EDT. Winds will shift from the SW to the SSE following the sea breeze and could gust up to 20 mph before lighter winds return after 7 PM. Surface winds will remain light tonight, but winds around 2,000 feet will approach 25 mph after midnight. In the vicinity of an active wildfire, these winds could mix to the surface. General Outlook through the next few days: High pressure at the surface and aloft will maintain persistent southwesterly wind flow, above normal temperatures and a continued lack of measurable rainfall. Low fuel moisture and decreasing afternoon RH through this weekend will lead to increased fire danger over the area. Daily seabreezes will travel from the coast inland through the afternoon. Next minimal chance of rain will come Sunday with a cold front. Fog potential for tonight is Low. .REST OF TODAY... Sky/weather.........Sunny (0-5 percent). Max temperature.....Around 89.
