Temperature at ignition should be in the upper 60s and top out at 83 degrees this afternoon. RH will start out in the mid 50s and lose about 5-7% every hour through 4 PM, bottoming out around 23%. Wind will be out of the southwest at 10-15 mph with gusts of 20-25 mph starting shortly after ignition. Given the warm weather and lack of clouds, expect deep mixing with excellent smoke dispersal this afternoon. Should note, these types of days tend to see stronger winds and lower RH than forecast. However, with winds aloft not expected to be much stronger than surface winds, this potential would be more likely realized on lower RH values (sub-20%). Wind this evening will become more southerly and stay somewhat gusty overnight. RH is expected to recover well into the 80s. A cold front will move through on Friday, bringing a shift to northwesterly winds, with gusts of 25-30 mph. Winds should start to turn clockwise around 10 AM, becoming fully northwesterly by 1-2 PM. Could also see some light showers as the front moves through with storm potential in the afternoon, but those chances look like they'll be to the southeast. Otherwise, expect a high around 73 by mid-day with RH in the lower 40s. Because it has been so dry lately, the danger for brush fires is expected to remain high today as winds gust to 15 to 20 miles per hour today and to around 15 mph Friday, although minimum afternoon relative humidity percentages are not expected to be critically low, generally in the upper 30s this afternoon and upper 40s Friday afternoon. A few strong to marginally severe storms could occur later this afternoon into this evening, along with a conditional wetting rain for some. A cold front brings a better likelihood for storms Saturday evening, with a conditional wetting rain Saturday night. The weather turns much colder behind the front, with potential for critically low minimum afternoon relative humidity percentages in the 20s Monday and Tuesday of next week. .TODAY... South to southeasterly flow will remain prevalent across the region through Saturday with wind speeds in the 10-15 mph range during peak afternoon hours. Moisture levels will remain largely unchanged with Min RH values in the 40s across inland areas and closer to the low 50s near the coast. Critical fire weather concerns will be limited due to these moisture levels. The lack of stagnant nighttime air and daytime warmth should mitigate development of dense fog in most places, but there will be chances for light to moderate fog particularly inland each morning through at least Friday morning. 1)There is a moderate chance of patchy fog, which can be locally dense at times. 2)The lowest RH values should remain well above 28% today. 3)Winds should generally remain southerly to southeasterly, but there is a low chance the wind gusts could reach around 15 mph. .TODAY...
