Very light, scattered showers have developed over the area. A few more may develop throughout the day, but largely little to no rainfall is anticipated. Anywhere where a small shower moves, do not anticipate meaningful rainfall. Otherwise, moisture still moving inland will allow for minimum RH values to vary in the 40 to 50 percent range this afternoon. Patchy areas of fog will be possible in the overnight hours through early Saturday. Fog may be dense at times. A cold front will move across Saturday night that may bring some portions of the area a wetting rain. Strong northerly winds and low relative humidity values are expected behind the front on Sunday. .REST OF TODAY... Sky/weather.........Mostly sunny (35-45 percent). Max temperature.....Around 87. Expect a warm, dry, and breezy day with plenty of sunshine. Temperature at ignition should be in the mid 60s and climb to 85 this afternoon. RH will start in the mid 50s, fall below 30% by 1 PM, and bottom out around 17% toward mid to late afternoon. Wind will be southerly, shifting to southwesterly in the afternoon, with speeds of 12-18 mph and gusts 22-28 mph. These winds are within a a few mph of reaching Red Flag criteria given RH in the teens, though technically the forecast for this exact point is just below criteria. Points around 15 miles to the west do reach criteria, hence the Red Flag Warning for Monona County. Should note, these types of days tend to see stronger winds and lower RH than forecast. However, with winds aloft not expected to be much stronger than surface winds, this potential would be more likely realized on lower RH values (sub-15%). Otherwise, given expected deep mixing, smoke dispersal will be excellent this afternoon. Winds will remain southerly overnight with gusts persisting. RH should recover well into the 80s, if not 90s. For Friday, a cold front will bring a wind shift to northwest winds and perhaps some light showers to the location. Winds should start turning clockwise by 9 AM and become fully northwesterly by noon. Said winds will gust 25-35 mph in the afternoon. Temperature will likely top out in the mid to upper 60s before noon with minimum RH around 40%. Expect a warm, dry, and breezy day with plenty of sunshine. Temperature at ignition will be around 84, close to the expected high of 85. RH will start around 20% and fall to 17% by 5 PM. Wind will be southwesterly, with speeds of 12-18 mph and gusts 22-28 mph. These winds are within a a few mph of reaching Red Flag criteria given RH in the teens, though technically the forecast for this exact point is just below criteria. Points around 10-15 miles to the west do reach criteria, hence the Red Flag Warning for Monona County. Daily seabreeze will travel from the coast inland through the afternoon and may reach the area late afternoon producing higher gusts and a wind shift to the SSE. Low fuel moisture and decreasing afternoon RH through this weekend will lead to increased fire danger over the area. High pressure at the surface and aloft will maintain persistent southwesterly wind flow, above normal temperatures and a continued lack of measurable rainfall. Next minimal chance of rain will come Sunday with a cold front. Wind profile analysis/fire control over flat terrain is Favorable. Fog potential for tonight is None. .REST OF TODAY... Very warm and dry conditions will continue today, with the morning low clouds giving way to a mix of clouds and sun for the afternoon. Look for min RH's to fall to 50-55% this afternoon, with southerly 20ft winds increasing to 6-10 mph by mid-morning through the afternoon. Winds will quickly decouple after sunset, with good RH recovery expected tonight. No patchy fog is expected, but low clouds will again redevelop late and shift north over the area. Slightly lower min RH's are expected Friday, with southerly 20ft winds increasing to around 10 mph with occasional higher gusts Friday. .TODAY... All hazards are possible in severe storms and some locally heavy rain is possible. On the back side of that system, some very light snow may fall into Saturday. .TODAY...
