For the following areas...

  Nearshore Waters from Burns Harbor to Michigan City...
  Open Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Michigan City out to Mid
Lake...

At 1059 PM CDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 26 nm northwest of St. Joseph Light to 20 nm northwest
of New Buffalo to 16 nm northwest of Michigan City to near Burns
Harbor, moving east at 30 knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
         suddenly higher waves.

Locations impacted include...
Burns Harbor.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for the adjacent
waters of Lake Michigan.

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

At 1218 AM AST, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm.
This thunderstorm was located over the Caribbean waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 20 to 30 knots, locally
higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe
harbor immediately until this storm passes.
