EDT, Tuesday, April 14, 2026. THE NEXT SCHEDULED FORECAST WILL BE ISSUED AT 6:00 A.M. EDT TOMORROW. WARNING IN EFFECT: There are no public warnings in effect at this time. A Near Gale Warning (28 – 33 knots) remains in effect for the Central and Southeast Bahamas until early Thursday. The Near Gale Warning for the Northwest Bahamas has been discontinued. For additional marine information, please view our Marine Forecast on our website, met.gov.bs. GENERAL SITUATION: Fresh to locally strong breezes and generally stable weather conditions will persist over the majority of the country as a strong ridge of high pressure extends over the region. Meanwhile, east of the southeastern islands, a weak surface low and its associated trough will induce cloudy periods while supporting isolated showers across portions of that area tonight through tomorrow. Outlook: Near gale winds will persist in the Central and Southeast Bahamas through early Thursday. Brisk winds and hazardous marine conditions will begin to subside across the Northern territories tomorrow while progressively moving southeastward through Thursday. A dry air mass will keep weather conditions mostly pleasant throughout the week with mostly passing showers. A westward moving surface trough will enter the Southeast Bahamas on Thursday increasing shower chances across the area into the weekend. SPECIAL WEATHER NOTES: Rip Currents and Rough Surf: A high risk of dangerous, life-threatening rip currents and rough surf persists along all Atlantic-exposed beaches and passages of the island chain. Beachgoers and swimmers are strongly advised to remain out of the water.
