EDT, Thursday, April 16, 2026. THE NEXT SCHEDULED FORECAST WILL BE ISSUED AT 12:00 P.M. EDT. WARNING IN EFFECT: There are currently no public warnings in effect. For marine information, please view our Marine Forecast on our website, met.gov.bs. GENERAL SITUATION: A high-pressure ridge will continue to support mostly stable weather conditions, with moderate breezes and the chance of a few brief passing showers. However, a nearby trough situated near the Southeast Bahamas will bring a greater likelihood of a few isolated showers across that area as it slowly moves westward. Outlook: The trough is expected to weaken through Friday, allowing high pressure to become the dominant weather feature across the region. However, lingering moisture associated with the decaying trough will support a few spotty showers across the island chain through the weekend. Winds will remain gentle to moderate during this period while temperatures begin to steadily climb. By late Monday into early Tuesday, another frontal boundary is expected to move into the Northern Bahamas, bringing widely scattered showers along with fresh to strong breezes and cooler temperatures across the country well into the week ahead. SPECIAL WEATHER NOTES: Rip Currents and Rough Surf: A high risk of dangerous, life-threatening rip currents and rough surf persists along all Atlantic-exposed beaches and passages of the island chain. Beachgoers and swimmers are strongly advised to remain out of the water.
