SUMMARY OF 1100 PM CHST...1300 UTC...INFORMATION ----------------------------------------------- Location...13.2N 147.3E About 155 miles east-southeast of Rota About 165 miles southeast of Tinian About 170 miles southeast of Saipan About 170 miles east of Guam About 320 miles south-southeast of Alamagan About 355 miles south-southeast of Pagan About 400 miles south-southeast of Agrihan Maximum sustained winds...175 mph Present movement...west-northwest...305 degrees at 8 mph DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 PM CHST...1300 UTC...the center of Super Typhoon Sinlaku was located by PGUA radar near Latitude 13.2 degrees North and Longitude 147.3 degrees East. Sinlaku is moving west-northwest at 8 mph. It is expected to turn slightly to the northwest with a slight decrease in speed through Tuesday. Tropical storm force winds will continue to spread and increase across across Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan. Typhoon force winds are expected to start reaching Rota, Tinian, and Saipan late Tuesday morning or early Tuesday afternoon. Latest JTWC forecast track still maintains passage near or over Tinian and Saipan. Maximum sustained winds remain at 175 mph. Sinlaku is forecast to weaken through Tuesday Sinlaku is forecast to gradually weaken through the next several days, however, it is still expected to cross the Marianas near or over Tinian and Saipan as a Category 4 or Category 5 storm. Typhoon force winds extend outward from the center up to 80 miles. Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to 275 miles to the northeast and up to 215 miles elsewhere.
