SUMMARY OF 800 AM CHST...2200 UTC...INFORMATION ----------------------------------------------- Location...14.1N 146.7E About 105 miles east of Rota About 110 miles southeast of Tinian About 110 miles southeast of Saipan About 140 miles east-northeast of Guam About 265 miles south-southeast of Alamagan About 300 miles south-southeast of Pagan About 345 miles south-southeast of Agrihan Maximum sustained winds...165 mph Present movement...northwest...320 degrees at 7 mph DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 800 AM CHST...2200 UTC...the center of Super Typhoon Sinlaku was located by PGUA radar near Latitude 14.1 degrees North and Longitude 146.7 degrees East. Sinlaku is moving northwest at 7 mph. It is expected to maintain this general course and speed through Wednesday, before making a turn to the north, passing through the northern CNMI through the latter half of the week. Tropical storm force winds will continue to spread and increase across Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan. Typhoon force winds are expected to start reaching Tinian and Saipan this afternoon. Latest JTWC forecast track has shifted further north, still indicating passage near or over Tinian and Saipan. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to 165 mph. Sinlaku is forecast to weaken through tonight. Typhoon force winds extend outward from the center up to 80 miles. Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to 265 miles.
