SUMMARY OF 100 AM CHST...1500 UTC...INFORMATION ----------------------------------------------- Location...15.1N 145.7E About 5 miles west-southwest of Saipan About 10 miles north of Tinian About 70 miles north-northeast of Rota About 125 miles north-northeast of Guam About 175 miles south of Alamagan About 210 miles south of Pagan About 250 miles south of Agrihan Maximum sustained winds...145 mph Present movement...northwest...325 degrees at 5 mph DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 100 AM CHST...1500 UTC...the center of Typhoon Sinlaku was located near Latitude 15.1 degrees North and Longitude 145.7 degrees East. Sinlaku is moving northwest at 5 mph. It is expected to make a slight turn toward the north-northwest with little change in forward speed through Thursday. Typhoon Sinlaku will begin to pull away to the northwest from Tinian and Saipan over the next few hours, then it will begin to pass through the northern CNMI just west of the islands of Alamagan, Pagan, and Agrihan, through the latter half of the week. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to 145 mph. Sinlaku is forecast to weaken through Thursday. Typhoon force winds extend outward from the center up to 75 miles. Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to 265 miles.
