SUMMARY OF 400 AM CHST...1800 UTC...INFORMATION ----------------------------------------------- Location...16.7N 144.5E About 80 miles west-northwest of Anatahan About 110 miles southwest of Alamagan About 130 miles southwest of Pagan About 135 miles northwest of Saipan About 140 miles north-northwest of Tinian About 160 miles south-southwest of Agrihan About 180 miles north-northwest of Rota About 225 miles north of Guam Maximum sustained winds...125 mph Present movement...northwest...305 degrees at 5 mph DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 700 AM CHST...2100 UTC...the center of Typhoon Sinlaku was located near Latitude 16.7 degrees North and Longitude 144.5 degrees East. Sinlaku is moving northwest at 5 mph. It is expected to make a turn toward the north with a slight increase in forward speed through Friday. Typhoon Sinlaku continues to pull away from Tinian and Saipan and has begun to move through the northern CNMI just west of Alamagan, Pagan, and Agrihan which will continue through Friday. Maximum sustained winds remain at 125 mph. Sinlaku is forecast to intensify this morning and then begin to weaken tonight. Typhoon force winds extend outward from the center up to 105 miles. Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to 290 miles to the northeast and up to 255 miles elsewhere.
