A Tropical Storm Warning and Typhoon Watch remain in effect for the northern coastal waters of Guam. A Typhoon Warning remains in effect for Rota, Tinian, Saipan, Alamagan, Pagan, and Agrihan in the CNMI and the adjacent coastal waters. SUMMARY OF 100 PM CHST...0300 UTC...INFORMATION ----------------------------------------------- Location...17.2N 144.4E About 100 miles west-southwest of Alamagan About 110 miles southwest of Pagan About 135 miles southwest of Agrihan About 170 miles north-northwest of Saipan About 175 miles north-northwest of Tinian About 215 miles north-northwest of Rota About 260 miles north of Guam Maximum sustained winds...130 mph Present movement...north...355 degrees at 3 mph DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 AM CHST...0100 UTC...the center of Typhoon Sinlaku was located near Latitude 17.2 degrees North and Longitude 144.4 degrees East. Sinlaku is moving north at 3 mph. It is expected to make a slight turn toward the north-northeast with slight increase in forward speed through Friday. Typhoon Sinlaku continues to pull away from Tinian and Saipan and has begun to move through the northern CNMI just west of Alamagan, Pagan, and Agrihan, which will continue through Friday. Maximum sustained winds remain at 130 mph. Sinlaku is forecast to continue to slowly weaken for the next few days as it moves through the northern CNMI. Typhoon force winds extend outward from the center up to 105 miles. Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to 290 miles to the northeast and up to 255 miles elsewhere.
