The western eyewall of Super Typhoon Sinlaku has now moved onshore of Tinian and Saipan based on both satellite and radar data. The center of STY Sinlaku remains just off shore by about 15 miles east- southeast of Tinian and south-southeast of Saipan. Super Typhoon Sinlaku is currently undergoing an eyewall replacement cycle, where the inner eye is weakening and will soon be overtaken by a much larger secondary eyewall. This process is allowing for rain and wind to spread out further away from the storm than what was previously seen. Wind reports across Saipan were showing gusts up to 115 mph before wind instruments across the island failed. Winds across Guam over the last few hours have been 45 to 55 mph with gusts from 75 to 85 mph.
