As the tornado crossed downtown Newville, it snapped and uprooted many trees and damaged the roofs of several businesses between the Seaboard Coastline Railroad tracks and Oak Lane including E. Columbia Road. The tornado snapped trees on Wheddon Farm Road before lifting near U.S. 431. Maximum sustained winds were estimated to be 100 mph which is EF-1 strength. .Northern Houston County... As the tornado travelled east along Lynn Jarvis Road, it tore the roof off a small shed. and snapped a tree. The tornado strengthened to an EF- 1 as it approached Glenwood Estates, uprooting and snapping several trees within that community. As the tornado approached Gilly Mill Road, it was nearing peak intensity as it lifted an outbuilding vertically from its moorings and tossed it into a tree. The tornado then weekend and possibly briefly lifted before damaging an awning on Randall Wade Road. The tornado then lifted near CR 55, but not before snapping support posts of a large outbuilding, including repurposed telephone poles, allowing the entire structure to shift several feet. This movement toppled a concrete structure within the outbuilding. Maximum sustained winds were estimated to be 110 mph. .Early County Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 95 mph Path Length /statute/: 6.45 miles Path Width /maximum/: 0 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 03/12/2026 Start Time: 05:43 AM EDT Start Location: 2 S Blakely / Early County / GA Start Lat/Lon: 31.3453 / -84.9358 End Date: 03/12/2026 End Time: 05:48 AM EDT End Location: 2 NE Cuba / Early County / GA End Lat/Lon: 31.3241 / -84.83 Survey Summary: Tornado touched down just east of Old Lucile Road south of Blakely, initially causing damage to oak and pine trees. The tornado flipped a storage shed and damaged a well-constructed farm equipment shelter along Lucile Road. The roof of a business housing several large trucks was severely damaged along Lucile Road as well. The overhead doors in the structure failed, allowing the roof and wall structure to be lifted and flipped over the rest of the building. The highest winds, approximately 95 mph were estimated to have occurred at this location. The tornado continued east-southeast, with a scattered path of damage to trees. The porch of a manufactured home was damaged on Crystal Springs Loop. An adjacent manufactured home was damaged by debris. After another stretch of isolated damage, additional more significant tree damage was observed along Sandy Bottom Road. The tornado appears to have dissipated shortly after crossing Sandy Bottom Road in a heavily wooded area. The overall damage was consistent with an EF-1 tornado with maximum winds of approximately 95 mph.Thanks to Early County Emergency Management for assistance with this assessment. ..Grady County Tornado... The tornado moved east, crossing Gainey Road, where a couple of additional trees were uprooted. The tornado dissipated before reaching Pine Hill Road.
