...FROST AND FREEZE HEADLINES WILL RESUME FOR NORTHWEST OREGON AND
SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON THIS GROWING SEASON, BEGINNING APRIL 1ST...

During the defined growing season, NWS Portland issues frost and
freeze headlines as needed for impacts to agriculture. These
headlines include Frost Advisories, Freeze Watches, and Freeze
Warnings. NWS Portland defines the growing season as April 1st
through October 31st across all of northwest Oregon and southwest
Washington from the coast to the Cascade Foothills. Frost and freeze
headlines are not issued for the Cascades. Beginning April 1st,
frost and freeze headlines will be issued as needed to highlight
near freezing or sub-freezing temperatures that are expected to
impact agriculture. People are strongly urged to follow local
forecasts and take preventative actions when below freezing
temperatures are in the forecast.
