...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON PST MONDAY...
...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northern California, including the following
  county, Shasta.

* WHEN...Until noon PST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is occuring. Low-water crossings are
  inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of
  slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all
  the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems
  in urban areas. Local media have reported water rescues.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 956 PM PST, local law enforcement reports flood impacts
    continue from heavy rain that has occurred on Sunday in
    Downtown Redding and adjacent urban areas. Between 3 and 7
    inches of rain have fallen with periods of moderate to heavy
    rain to continue over the next several hours.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    West Fork Stillwater Creek, Stillwater Creek, Sacramento
    River, Salmon Creek, Moody Creek, Olney Creek, Little Cow
    Creek, Clover Creek, Dry Creek, Old Cow Creek, Rock Creek,
    Churn Creek, Cow Creek, East Valley Creek, Boulder Creek,
    Deep Hole Creek, Pit River, Buckeye Creek, Spring Branch,
    Woodman Creek, Sulphur Creek, Tadpole Creek, Salt Creek,
    Bacon Creek, South Cow Creek, Clear Creek, East Fork
    Stillwater Creek and Bear Creek.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Redding, Interstate 5, State Route 299, Palo Cedro, Shasta
    Lake, Anderson, Millville, Mountain Gate, Central Valley and
    Central Valley Cdp.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
