Subject: The Experimental Caribbean and Central American
Rainfall Graphic Product will Transition to Operational Status
on or about May 19, 2026

On May 19, 2026, the NWS National Centers for Environmental
Prediction (NCEP) National Hurricane Center (NHC) and Weather
Prediction Center (WPC) will transition the Caribbean and
Central American Rainfall Graphic to operational status.

This product provides a graphical display of forecast rainfall
totals associated with an Atlantic basin tropical cyclone or
disturbance for a specified time period, based on forecaster
discretion.  The graphic allows for enhanced communication to
external partners, media and the general public of the expected
rainfall.  The product is available on the NHC website at
hurricanes.gov whenever an Atlantic basin tropical cyclone is
forecast to bring rainfall to areas comprising the Caribbean
Sea, Central America, and Mexico.
