Light south-southwest winds through mid-morning are expected to increase through this afternoon as surface low pressure in southeast Colorado begins to shift east-northeast into extreme western Kansas. Wind gusts upward of 25 to 30 mph will be possible across central and south central Kansas as stronger winds aloft begin to mix down with maximum daytime heating. Additionally, much drier air spreading into southwest Kansas will lower relative humidity down to as low as 10 to 20% by this afternoon with 20 to 30% in central/south central Kansas, creating elevated to critical fire weather conditions. Winds are expected to become more southwesterly this evening as the surface low continues to lift slowly northeast into northwest/north central Kansas. .TODAY...
