A cold front will approach the region today and push through this evening. SW winds will gust to around 25-35 mph today ahead of the front. Showers and thunderstorms will push across the fire area late this afternoon and evening bringing gusty winds and locally heavy rain. A few storms may produce damaging wind gusts. The thunderstorm threat will end after the front pushes through late this evening with showers lingering into the early morning hours. Latest model guidance is a bit wetter with the system bringing 1/2 to 1 inch, but higher amounts are possible if thunderstorms train over the area. Drier and cooler conditions expected Monday with weak high pressure building into the area.
