If conditions become unrepresentative, contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION... An area of low pressure is expected to form west of the region this afternoon and evening. A warm front strengthens near the I-80 corridor this afternoon. Areas north of the front, including the prescribed burn, can expect light northeast winds. South of this front gusty southwest winds are possible. The position of the front will be monitored if it trends farther north towards the burn. Temperatures warm to near 80 this afternoon with relative humidity falling into the 25 to 35 percent range. Mixing heights increase to between 5000 and 6000 feet by mid-afternoon. Afternoon and evening thunderstorms are not anticipated, but can't be ruled out entirely. The best chance of storms is overnight with a 30 to 40 percent chance. Excellent recovery is expected tonight with continued relatively light north to northeast winds. The same area of low pressure will be over the region tomorrow, making wind direction a bit uncertain, though winds should remain relatively light.
