EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...Winds are expected to increase throughout the day
today, favoring a southeast direction in the morning and turning
southwesterly in the afternoon and evening. While from the
southeast, sustained winds should be in the 5-15 mph range.
Confidence in afternoon wind speeds decreases due to uncertainty
in the magnitude of downsloping. There is a 60% chance of seeing
40+ mph gusts between 3pm and 8pm. Winds should quickly drop off
in the late evening, leaving light drainage winds overnight.
Similar conditions anticipated on Saturday, though winds may be
slightly weaker. Afternoon RH values 15-20%, recovering to around
50% overnight. Dry conditions are likely to prevail as
precipitation gets hung up on the Sierra crest, but there is a
10% chance that a brief shower spills over this afternoon and
evening. Cannot rule out a rumble of thunder or two (5% chance).
