FNCA72 TJSJ 131400 FWSSJU Spot Forecast for Tortuguero...PRFD National Weather Service San Juan PR 1000 AM AST Mon Apr 13 2026 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 1000 AST on April 13. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. Please contact our office if you have questions or concerns with this forecast at PHONE: 787-253-4586. .DISCUSSION...Heavy showers and thunderstorms have begun, but have mostly confined over the Atlantic waters with some activity impacting eastern portions of Puerto Rico, Vieques, Culebra, and northern USVI. However, higher potential of observing heavy showers in that area is expected by noon onwards. Any rainfall is expected to be brief and uneven, with limited impact on fuels, unless a period of heavy showers settled over the area. Otherwise, fuels may remain very dry due to recent rainfall deficits and low soil moisture. Winds will be generally light from the east at 5 to 10 mph, but nearby showers or thunderstorms could produce brief gusty and erratic winds up to around 30 mph, along with lightning. Overall, dry fuels, lightning potential, and localized gusty winds may contribute to periods of increased fire behavior. .REST OF TODAY...
