...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTHWEST COASTAL PLAINS...

.The KBDI remains above critical fire weather thresholds in Cabo
Rojo at 628. Today, a drier air mass is expected to slowly filter
from the east throughout the day, and overall breezy to windy
conditions are expected along the southwest coastal plains. Wind
speeds are expected to peak between 16 and 23 mph at times, with
stronger gusts due to the sea breeze around 28 mph. Red Flag
conditions are expected between mid-morning into the early
afternoon hours, when RH values will drop to around 45%.
Therefore, we have issued a Red Flag Warning for the Southwest
Coastal Plains.

* WIND...East to east-southeast at 16 to 23 mph, with stronger
  gusts around 28 mph.

* HUMIDITY...Relative humidity values from the mid to upper 40s.

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
